Xilisoft DVD Ripper Standard is a DVD ripping software with support for most formats. There is nothing new here. With this application you can insert your DVD into the tray, click buttons a couple of times, and, thirty minutes or more later, have a video file of the format of your liking. Xilisoft DVD Ripper boasts support for most of the audio and video formats, such as MPEG4, AVI, DivX, XviD, RM, FLV, SWF, MOV, 3GP, WMV, WMA, MP3, AAC, AC3, M4A, WAV, and more. Furthermore, this little application will let you export the video to a bunch of other devices. So, I guess that if you want to encode some video from a DVD to an iPod, an Iphone, an Apple TV, Xbox 360, or devices like those, this application will come in handy. You can also avoid having to rip the whole DVD if you only want a portion of the content on it. Indeed, ripping a single chapter of a musical DVD was easy and fast enough. So, this is an application that does pretty much the same that the other competing applications do but has some added functionality. Although the Standard version does not say anything about converting your DVD to any of the mobile formats I mentioned above. It is a fact that those devices support some of the formats you can select for an output with this application. So if you were to select WMV as your output, you would probably save yourself the 25$ price tag of another application just to do that. It just comes down to a little of common sense. |
